Why in the news?

 Assam’s Chief Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, has recently launched an important initiative called the Amrit Brikshya Andolan.

Key Points

• At the launch event,  Around 40 lakh women from self-help groups will plant saplings, and many others like anganwadi workers, tea garden workers, and government officials will join in. People who register and share pictures of planting will even receive money in their bank accounts.

• This initiative also focuses on increasing farmers’ income while preserving our environment. Additionally, new rules have been introduced to support wood-based industries in the state, especially agarwood growers.

• The event was attended by various ministers and members of the legislative assembly.

About Amrit Brikshya Andolan initiative

• Through this scheme, the citizens of the state will be encouraged to plant trees.
• This scheme will be run in the entire state.
• Due to this scheme, the citizens of the state will be given an amount of Rs 100 per plant at the time of planting and after that the state government will also pay Rs 200 per plant to the beneficiaries if the plants survive for 3 years.
•   Under Amrit Brikshya Andolan Yojana, on September 17, about 1 crore saplings will be planted in the state in just 2 hours. By doing this, the state of Assam will become the first state in the country.
•  To take advantage of this scheme, the citizens of the state will be able to register online on the Wave Portal.

Objective of this initiative

• This has to be implemented to prevent indiscriminate cutting of trees and provide financial assistance to the citizens for the scheme, so that the citizens of the state are encouraged to plant saplings and the citizens get positive results by taking advantage of the scheme.

About Assam:

Location: It is a state located in the northeastern region of India. It is bounded by Bhutan to the north, Arunachal Pradesh to the east, Nagaland to the northeast, Manipur to the southeast, Mizoram to the south and West Bengal to the west.

असम के मुख्यमंत्री डॉ. हिमंत बिस्वा सरमा ने हाल ही में अमृत बृक्ष आंदोलन नामक एक महत्वपूर्ण पहल शुरू की है।

प्रमुख बिंदु

• लॉन्च इवेंट में, स्वयं सहायता समूहों की लगभग 40 लाख महिलाएं पौधे लगाएंगी, और आंगनवाड़ी कार्यकर्ता, चाय बागान कार्यकर्ता और सरकारी अधिकारी जैसे कई अन्य लोग इसमें शामिल होंगे। जो लोग पंजीकरण करते हैं और रोपण की तस्वीरें साझा करते हैं उन्हें पैसे भी मिलेंगे। बैंक खाते।

अमृत ​​बृक्ष आंदोलन पहल के बारे में

• इस योजना के माध्यम से राज्य के नागरिकों को पेड़ लगाने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जाएगा।
• यह योजना पूरे राज्य में चलाई जायेगी.
• इस योजना के चलते राज्य के नागरिकों को रोपण के समय प्रति पौधा 100 रुपये की राशि दी जाएगी और उसके बाद पौधे 3 साल तक जीवित रहने पर राज्य सरकार लाभार्थियों को प्रति पौधा 200 रुपये का भुगतान भी करेगी।
•   अमृत ​​बृक्ष आंदोलन योजना के तहत 17 सितंबर को प्रदेश में सिर्फ 2 घंटे में करीब 1 करोड़ पौधे लगाए जाएंगे. ऐसा करने पर असम राज्य देश का पहला राज्य बन जायेगा।
•  इस योजना का लाभ लेने के लिए राज्य के नागरिक वेव पोर्टल पर ऑनलाइन पंजीकरण कर सकेंगे।

इस पहल का उद्देश्य

पेड़ों की अंधाधुंध कटाई को रोकने और नागरिकों को योजना के लिए वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करने के लिए इसे लागू किया जाना है, ताकि राज्य के नागरिक पौधे लगाने के लिए प्रोत्साहित हों और योजना का लाभ उठाकर नागरिकों को सकारात्मक परिणाम मिलें।
