Bonn Climate Change Conference 2026

Bonn Climate Change Conference 2026

Context

In June 2026, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) concluded the Bonn Climate Change Conference (SB64) in Bonn, Germany. As the annual mid-year climate negotiations, the conference laid the groundwork for the 31st Conference of the Parties (COP31) and focused on accelerating the implementation of the Paris Agreement.

About the UNFCCC

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is the principal international treaty on climate change. It was adopted at the 1992 Rio Earth Summit with the objective of stabilising greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere to prevent dangerous human-induced interference with the climate system.
