RASHTRIYA VIGYAN PURUSHKAR
- The Central Government has decided to introduce 56 prizes under the category of Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar.
- Out of 56 - 3 Vigyan Ratna, 25 Vigyan Shri, 25 Yuva Vigyan Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar, 3 Vigyan Team Awards are provided to felicitate scientists.
- The awards will be announced annually on National Technology Day on May 11 and will be awarded on National Space Day on August 23 in 2024.
Vigyan Ratna : Based on lifetime contribution in the field of Science and Technology
Vigyan Shri : Based on distinguished contribution in the field of Science and Technology
Yuva Vigyan Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar : Named behind the CEO and Founder of CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research)
Vigyan Team Awards : Awarded to a team of three or more Scientists, Innovators, Researchers for their outstanding contribution in the field of Science and Technology.
