The Awards were present to Surat, Jabalpur & Agra (Category 1) ; Firozabad, Amravati & Jhansi (Category 2) ; Raebareli , Nalgonda & Nalagarh (Category 3)
ABOUT –
- Initiative by the Ministry of Environment to rank cities on the implementation of activities coined and approved under the CAP (City Action Plan) & air quality in 130 NCAP cities (National Clean Air Programme).
- Criteria – Solid waste management, Road dust control, Industrial Emissions etc.
- Awarded annually on 7th September which is observed as International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies.
- Awarded in top 3 categories based on the populations of cities –
- Category 1 – (10 Lakh+)
- Category 2 – (3-10 Lakh)
- Category 3 – (under 3 Lakhs)
