About Crystal Mage 2 Missile:
- Also known as ROCKS.
- It is an air-launched medium-range ballistic missile.
- The Crystal Maze 2 is an advanced air-launched missile developed by Israel, designed for precision strike on high-value targets.
- It is designed to target high-value fixed and moveable assets of potential adversaries, such as long-range radars and air defense systems.
- This new medium-range ballistic missile is not part of the 'Agni' series of missile systems.
Features of Crystal Mage 2 Missile:
- Unlike its predecessor Crystal Maze 1, which was earlier inducted into the Indian Air Force from Israel, Crystal Maze 2 boasts of extended stand-off range capabilities as an air-to-surface missile.
- It is capable of hitting targets at a distance of more than 250 kilometers.
- With options for penetration or blast fragmentation warheads, the missile is capable of destroying above ground or well-protected underground targets.
- This is especially effective in GPS-denied environments.
- Its deployment strategy involves releasing the missile outside the surface-to-air safe zone.
- High-velocity trajectories are then used to minimize risk to aircraft and missiles.
