Context : The national crime record bureau report shows on increase in violence against women in India in various ways such as :

1. Dowry deaths
2. Sexual harassment
3. Torture
4. Rapes etc.

How dramatically, the cases are increasing  

• Any act of gender case violence contributing to physical, sexual, mental harm to women.
• It involves threats, arbitrary deprivation, molestation, sexual assault etc.

• 38% of murders of women are committed globally by their known partners.
• Such problems in the society is risingly impacting the mental, sexual and reproductive health of women.

Causes

Gender Discrimination : Violence against women is at an ever increasing pace due to the gender stereotypes and structural inequality. It put women at risk and presents various forms of violence.

Household : The regular consumption of alcohol and its after effect by males of the family is a traumatic experience for female which makes them vulnerable to move out and take stand.

Other factors : Such as patriarchal mindset, economic status, traditional gender roles, risk for violence etc. promote such violence's.

Outcomes :

• Heavy impact on health and health related issues have formed the basis of women suffering from such violence.
• A Heavy impact over mental and physical health, reproductive health etc is also seen.
• Economic Issues : Serious impacts on economy of household as well as nation is seen.
• Participation of women in developmental activities has also significantly reduced at both micro and macro level.
